Zendaya’s Debut of New Afro-Centric Look-a-Like Barbie Doll

Written by Jae Jones

How amazing is ? Finally, a doll that many little African-American girls will be able to relate to. The doll is a replicate of Zendaya’s Vivienne Westwood look from the 2015 Oscars Red Carpet. Barbie has presented Zendaya with a one-of-a-kind doll that looks exactly like the actress/model. If you remember, Zendaya’s dredlock hairstyle sparked a big controversy on E!’s Fashion police. Giulana Rancic landed in hot water after remarks she made over Zendaya’s hair at the Oscars. Rancic referenced Zendaya’s hair by saying “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil and weed.” She later apologized, but the show quickly caught significant backlash. It is great to see a beautiful and afro-centric look for one of Mattel’s Barbie dolls.
